Something Pushed Me
In Episode 5, the ladies welcome Julie — the fourth co-host of The 108 Effect — as she tells her story: from first-time paranormal encounters at the Stanley Hotel, to a UFO sighting above her Minnesota farm, to Bigfoot evidence in the backyard, to discovering psychic abilities she never knew she had. A warm, funny, and genuinely mind-blowing conversation about what happens when you finally open the door.
Show Notes
Episode 5 of The 108 Effect brings a new voice to the table — and what a story she has to tell.
Julie didn’t come to the paranormal through childhood hauntings or family tradition. She came through friendship, curiosity, and an encounter at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado that she still can’t fully explain: an invisible force pressing against her chest to stop her from walking into a field full of resting elk, and a ghost that opened and closed a bathroom door when she asked if it wanted her there.
That was just the beginning.
This episode traces Julie’s evolution from self-described skeptic to one of the most quietly gifted members of the group — including the now-legendary “skateboard moment”, when during a remote healing exercise, Julie wrote only three impressions about a stranger and nailed all three, including one detail so specific — a catastrophic skateboarding injury — that it left the room speechless.
The conversation also revisits one of the group’s most extraordinary shared experiences: the night Dawn and Tina were sitting on Julie’s back porch in rural Minnesota when a massive, silent, triangular craft materialized above the tree line, hovered, and then moved deliberately in their direction before passing silently over the house at treetop level. Dawn texted the group from her room later: “If I go missing, this is why.” Tina, meanwhile, thought the UFO had taken her friends.
Julie also shares the growing case for a Sasquatch presence on her family’s seven-generation dairy farm: a tree twisted and snapped at nine feet with nothing around it disturbed, rock clacking from beyond the fence line in the quiet evening, and a resonant whoop response the night after she played the Sierra Sounds from the porch.
And throughout it all, there’s the deeper thread this podcast always returns to: what happens when you stop dismissing your own perceptions? Julie’s journey is a living answer — patient, funny, and increasingly hard to explain away.
Dawn also performs the Bigfoot call, which may or may not mean something regrettable in whatever language Sasquatch speak.
